Become An Officiant

(Serving the Amicalola Falls area in the North Georgia Mountains)

If you feel a calling towards it, I can even help you become an officiant, so that you can perform wedding ceremonies on your own. I am what is called a Minister Director with Universal Brotherhood Movement Incorporated, the group through which I am an ordained minister. (See the page "Wedding Officiant" for more information on that group.)

As such, I can ordain people into their own ministry.

The process, which is explained in detail on the Universal Brotherhood website, involves writing why you want to become a minister, and paying a nominal fee in order to be registered with the group. This registration is what gives you the legal right to officiate weddings.

You can read the background as to how Universal Brotherhood Movement Inc. came into being. When you are ordained, you will not be a minister “with” UB, but rather you will have your own ministry that you will name and run as you see fit.

Universal Brotherhood is an umbrella group through which you establish your own ministry. That ministry may involve counseling, officiating weddings, alternative healing or any other modality that you feel led toward. This involves legalities, so you just need to be aware of it.

The ordination ceremony itself consists of myself, the candidate for ordination, and any friends or family that he or she would like to have attend. There is a brief, but very moving ceremony which involves the lighting of a candle, which I will provide.

The ceremony can take place outside in nature (Amicalola Falls State Park is a place I have used often) or in your home or mine. It is up to you to decide where you would like to have it, according to the dictates of the weather.

It is a labor of love for us Minister Directors, since we only get a very small amount to cover basic expenses. But I love helping people become an officiant almost as much as I love doing weddings, so if you feel that this is the path for you, contact me through the form on this site.
